Source of Waste Gas:
The waste gas is generated from the blue carbon (semi-coke) quenching process, the belt gallery transfer operation, and the breathing gas from the ammonia tank.
Waste Gas Components:
The primary constituents include carbon monoxide (CO), non-methane total hydrocarbons, tar, dust, and water vapor.
Processing Air Volume:
The system processes an air volume of 32,000 m³/h.
Process Configuration:
The treatment process involves collection and preliminary treatment, followed by ammonia spray conditioning and a Rotary Valve Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO).
Process Challenges:
Key challenges include effectively collecting and treating dust- and tar-laden waste gas, preventing tar blockages within the system, controlling the combustion of blue carbon gas, and managing concentration fluctuations.
Treatment Results:
The concentration of non-methane total hydrocarbons was reduced from an inlet level of 1100 mg/m³ to an outlet level of 11.4 mg/m³.
