Ultra-Low Concentration Coal Mine Gas Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer
The Phase I project of ultra-low concentration coal mine gas regenerative oxidation, led by Xi'an Yurcent Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. as the EPC contractor, has successfully passed acceptance.

A joint acceptance team, comprising the coal power group, the local safety supervision bureau (quality supervision station), the ventilation and surveying department, the mechanical and transportation department, and other relevant units, conducted the final acceptance inspection for the Phase I ultra-low concentration coal mine gas regenerative oxidation project. After rigorous evaluation, the project met high standards and officially entered operation, marking a milestone in the national dual-carbon strategy and injecting new momentum into the green and low-carbon development of the coal mining industry. It successfully validated the innovative model of "destruction as resource utilization" for ultra-low-concentration gases, demonstrating strong foresight.

Responding to the Dual-Carbon Strategy: Setting a Benchmark for Efficient Gas Utilization
The project deployed two 60,000 Nm³/h Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTOs) and two 7 t/h medium-temperature, medium-pressure waste heat boilers. By utilizing central mine drainage gas to replace the Power Plant for mine heating, the project maximizes the use of central drainage gas, destroying 15.55 million m³ of methane annually and reducing 250,000 tons of CO₂ emissions.
This achievement not only addresses the industry pain point of coal mine gas—"venting as waste, retention as hazard"—but also pioneers a circular economy model for gas resource utilization, delivering both economic and environmental benefits.
Three Core Technologies Leading Industry Innovation
Amid the wave of green development, this ultra-low concentration coal mine gas regenerative oxidation project shines as a brilliant example of innovation and transformation. As a flagship project of Xi'an Yuchang, it showcases three groundbreaking advancements in gas utilization:
1. World-Leading Rotary RTO System
The Rotary RTO features a purge function, achieving a 3% methane destruction efficiency, 4% higher than traditional two-chamber RTOs, translating to an additional ~1 million yuan in annual carbon credit revenue. The innovative rotary gas distribution valve extends continuous operation life to 30,000 hours, ensuring stable carbon credit (CCER) generation.
2. China's First "Three Protections + One Control" Safety System
Equipped with dust-proof, waterproof, and freeze-proof features, along with an extractive gas concentration detection system. A five-level HART safety interlock, "mandatory maintenance" software suite, and "child lock for misoperation prevention" software suite enhance safety. Full-system HAZOP analysis ensures intrinsic safety.
3. Industry's First Intelligent Central Control System
An integrated central control system enables unmanned operation from gas mixing, oxidation heating, to carbon asset management, advancing hazardous operations into the smart era.

Win-Win for Environment and Economy
After commissioning, the project not only meets the mine’s entire heating demand but also achieves "zero emissions" of drainage gas. The Qidong Coal Mine ultra-low concentration gas regenerative oxidation project is a significant milestone in the coal mine energy revolution, setting a benchmark for zero-carbon mining in China. Its technological level will lead to industry development.
Leveraging this model, we will continue innovating comprehensive gas utilization technologies, helping more coal enterprises build low-carbon circular ecosystems, and contributing technological strength to the Blue Sky Protection Campaign.
